About Vinyasa Flow Yoga

Vinyasa means to "link breath with movement." In this style of yoga, practitioners move in and out of postures or asanas, always in time with the rhythm of their breath. The workout can be mild to intense, depending on the pace that the practitioner moves at and the depth and difficulty level of the poses. Muscles are both stretched and strengthened. The heart will experience an aerobic effect matching the intensity of the workout relative to the current state of physical fitness for the practitioner. An important benefit is that the spine (which when flexible is a sign of excellent health) will become more supple and free by moving through all its ranges-of-motion. Most importantly, the mind will quiet down and a deep sense of ease and calm will be experienced. This will give the yogi/yogini the potential to move through all the challenges of life with grace, equanimity and ease.
